AP Statistics Course Info

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Proficient reading and writing skills are extremely important - mechanical math skills often times take a backseat to being able to clearly communicate what the numbers actually mean in the context of the given scenario.

Students who successfully complete the course and examination may receive credit and/or advanced placement for a one-semester introductory college statistics course.

Here is the course descriptor that was handed out on the first day of class:

Calculators

We will be using the TI-84 CE graphing calculators in class. If you are looking to purchase one for home use, this is the calculator that we recommend.

Other models are generally allowed as well, however it will be up to the student to become familiar with using them.  Classroom demonstrations will be done on a TI-84 CE.
